Brandon Jones

In his work, Brandon Jones is constantly searching for ways to break the mundane and create various structures and environments that defy the normalcy of day to day life. In his recent work he was focusing on expanding his breadth of material use and challenging himself to push the limits of what he can do with the material of potassium nitrate. In this three piece sculpture Jones grew potassium nitrate crystals of varying colors onto materials such as moss, cotton, and sand to create landscapes and seemingly natural objects such as a lake, a mountain, and a mushroom cap.
